GLVC Places Four on Daktronics All-Midwest First Team

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Michigan Tech University senior forward Katie Wysocky (Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin) was named the Daktronics, Inc. Midwest Region Player of the Year in a vote of the region’s sports information directors. She was joined on the First Team by four GLVC standouts.

ASHLAND, Ohio - Senior guard Jamar Smith of Southern Indiana is the 2009-2010 Daktronics Midwest Regional Men’s Basketball player of the year. Smith is one of four Great Lakes Valley Conference players on this year’s Midwest Region First Team.

INDIANAPOLIS - The 2010 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Semifinals and Finals will be replayed throughout the coming week by HomeTown Sports Indiana. The six contests will feature all of the contests played in Springfield, Ill. over the weekend.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The University of Indianapolis softball team ran its winning streak to six games with an 8-2 win over St. Cloud State and a 1-0 win over Edinboro in eight innings. WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Rockhurst's Dustin Ladyman drove in five runs in the first game of a doubleheader with Mansfield on Tuesday, leading the Hawks to a 14-12 victory. Mansfield would take the secnod game, 5-4. In other action, Maryville fell to Harris Stowe, 15-9, and Saint Joseph's lost at 16th-ranked Tampa, 17-6.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Freshman Bri Anton canned a three-pointer in the waning seconds to lift Drury to a 67-63 win over Lewis in the second semifinal of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Basketball Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers (25-6) will now play UW-Parkside in the finals on Sunday at 1 p.m.
