INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis volleyball team claimed its second Great Lakes Valley Conference title in 2009 and has been selected to repeat the feat in 2010 by the league’s 15 head coaches. The Greyhounds were selected as the favorites to claim the 2010 GLVC Volleyball Championship as announced by the league office.

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Craig Brown, assistant volleyball coach at Brescia University in Owensboro for the past two-and-half seasons, has been chosen as head coach at Kentucky Wesleyan College, as announced by Director of Athletics Gary Gallup today.

LEXINGTON, Ky.- In a release by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on Dec. 11, University of Indianapolis volleyball head coach Jody Butera was named the 2009 AVCA Division II National Coach of the Year.  Butera guided the Greyhounds to a stellar 38-2 mark this season, punctuated by the program’s first-ever trip to the Elite Eight.
 

ST. PAUL, Minn.- UIndy senior Kyleigh Turner (Muncie, Ind./Cowan) was bestowed with the NCAA’s Elite 88 award at the annual banquet for the Division II Volleyball Championship Wednesday night.  The Elite 88 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA’s 88 championships.

INDIANAPOLIS– Lewis University senior Stephanie Sagat was named the 2009 Daktronics, Inc. Division II Midwest Region Player of the Year in a vote by the region’s sports information directors.
